Do not click restart in the game, instead refresh by hitting F5 or click address bar and hit enter.
When you first start the game you have POINTS, spend them one at a time on your attributes or spend them in bulk on bonuses (I like the “hidden pouch” bonus which allows you to enter the game with a few items, usually a weapon and some armor)
My first 10 games I died at less than level 4. Don’t give up, as you gain more levels and items you will do better and better.
Remember to equip items when you pick them up!
Use the NUM keys to move your character. Do not forget about diagonal also! hit SPACE to rest, Semicolon (;) for ranged attack, (‘) for casting magic spells. Center NUM key (5) to pickup0 objects, activate, use stairs, etc. Click on an object for description.
